We have 4 outstanding young men in our small ward in Liberty, Texas that have been called to serve a mission. It will be fun to have our ward family follow their experiences through this blog. Elder Clegg left July 20,2011 for the Idaho, Pocatello mission, Elder Waddell left July 27, 2011 for the Alaska, Anchorage Spanish speaking mission, Elder Escobar left in August for the Massachusetts, Boston mission, and Elder Tellez left September 14, 2011 for the Mexico, Veracruz Spanish speaking mission. We are so very excited that these fine young men have chosen to serve the Lord.

Trinity leaves
Well Trinity left Texas this evening for the MTC in Provo, Utah. We started our days journey with Trinity and his dad getting a haircut....that missionary cut appropriate for all LDS missionaries. They both look good! Then we took some family photos before we picked up Sammi at her house. It is always fun taking family pics! After we picked up Sammi we headed to President Banks home where Trinity was set apart as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was a wonderful experience and Trinity's whole countenance seemed to change immediately. When we arrived at Houston's Intercontinental airport we discovered his plane was delayed an hour. I was happy to have a few extra minutes to share with him. Oh, but when it was time to go it was hard. D'nel lost it and started crying first which of course caused a chain reaction. We were all in tears, but they were bittersweet. We watched as he went through security and was finally out of sight. He will be in the MTC about 8 weeks learning Spanish and then will fly to his first area in Alaska. Will keep you posted.

ReplyDeleteI am so proud of Trinity. He has made a wonderful choice in his life, that of serving a mission. I just know he will set a great example to his fellow missionaries... just as he is setting one for us left here at home. God speed!
