We have 4 outstanding young men in our small ward in Liberty, Texas that have been called to serve a mission. It will be fun to have our ward family follow their experiences through this blog. Elder Clegg left July 20,2011 for the Idaho, Pocatello mission, Elder Waddell left July 27, 2011 for the Alaska, Anchorage Spanish speaking mission, Elder Escobar left in August for the Massachusetts, Boston mission, and Elder Tellez left September 14, 2011 for the Mexico, Veracruz Spanish speaking mission. We are so very excited that these fine young men have chosen to serve the Lord.

Trinity's 1st letter from MTC

Hola! Well this is my first email of my mission. I prewrote this and only have half an yhour on the computer. It turns out as of now I think I can only email my family. but we'll see what happens. It's crazy how much work we do here. It's literally nonstop from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Here's an example of a day. shower and prepare at six thirty breakfast at seven personal study from 7:30 to 8:30 Classtime including teaching "investigators" from 8:30 to 11:30. Lunch till noon or so. gym for 45 minutes. another hour of personal sudy after fifteen minutes of getting showered and dressed. An hour of language study on the computer than an hour off the computer. Dinner for half an hour then class for three more hours. An hour of personal study then planning for the next day!  By this time it's 9:30 and you're completely exhausted. I love it. Learning spanish is so tuff when they're just throwing everything at you at once but we've learned so much already. Supposedly they've made drastic changes in the curriculum and we're the first group to have them. It seems to be baptism by fire. ha. Hermano Stornetta es nuestro maestro. He's fabulous. He relays his meaning really well through body language. Mi companero es muy obediente. He is a cabeza rojo! He's a great guy. Everyone in our district seems to be really serious about the work and so helpful. We're trying to memorize Nuestro objetivo or purposito en expanol. Es dificil. Repentance is muy largo en espanol. ha. I've talked to Elder Clegg and Elder Malone some. They're doing great. I've seen a lot of elders and even a couple hermanas from BYUH. It's weird learning Spanish with gospel literature and trying to teach the gospel in spanish at the same time. it feels like we have to do so much more than just one or the other. Well in general the MTC is amazing. There are some obnoxious people in our residence hall but other than that everything is fantastic. If anyone wants me to write them I need their address.  Well I miss you all I love you all. Let me know what's going on down there in tejas. All is well in Zion.

                                                              Love,
                                                                         Elder Waddell
